Eric Trump: Vote For the Candidate Who Doesn’t Need the Job
Republican nominee's son touts dad's experience, love for country
The night after two of Donald Trump’s children reassured conservatives he shared their interests, a third took to the stage to explain just why his father was seeking “the most powerful and unforgiving office in the world.”

Eric Trump told delegates at the Republican National Convention Wednesday evening that his father decided to run after he believed things could not get any worse in the country, reiterating an answer the business mogul gave Oprah Winfrey when she asked if he would ever seek the presidency.
His son reiterated that his father was the best candidate to address a slew of policy issues that included taxes, manufacturing and education. And he stressed that Donald Trump is a candidate that would not be bought.
He told the crowd it was time for the country to have a president who always signs “the front of a check, not the back.”
“Vote for the one candidate that does not need this job,” Trump said.
It was one of the first times during the week long convention that a speech focused mostly on policy and promises and not on slamming presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, recounting the threat of terrorism or criticizing the current administration for what Republicans believe are wholesale failures.

Eric Trump’s speech was another attempt to humanize — and perhaps this time professionalize — the Republican presidential nominee as his children and wife have taken the stage this week.
