Rep. Steve King said he’ll vote for Donald Trump, but he can work with Hillary Clinton, despite their disagreements.

King, who endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz in the Iowa caucus and is seen as one of the staunchest opponents of immigration reform, made his comments at the Iowa State Fair.

“I’ll try to break out of my shell if I have to do battle with an agenda that Iowans reject,” he said. “But I also know that I’ve sat across the table with Hillary Clinton, eye-to-eye, and when you’re working outside of staff and outside of the press, she is somebody I can work with.”

Afterward, King told the Des Moines Register that he will be voting for Trump and had high praise for Trump’s running mate, Gov. Mike Pence, with whom he served in the House.

“I will grow my enthusiasm as the situation becomes ever more acute,” he said of the election.
