Nevada’s Cresent Hardy Hospitalized for ‘Minor Heart Attack’
Spokesman says he expects Hardy to return to Washington for votes next week

Nevada Republican Rep. Cresent Hardy was hospitalized for a “minor heart attack,” according to a spokesman’s statement on Monday and several Las Vegas news outlets.
He has “undergone a routine medical procedure” after the attack, the statement said, adding that he remains under observation by doctors.
“Out of an abundance of caution, doctors are continuing to observe him while he makes a full and speedy recovery,” Larry Farnsworth, Hardy’s communication director, said in a statement. “We expect the Congressman to return to a full schedule later this week and is expected to be in Washington next week for votes when Congress returns from the August district work period.”
Hardy is in the middle of a competitive bid for re-election in a race that is rated Tilts Democratic by The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call. He faces Democratic state Sen. Ruben Kihuen in the general election.
Kihuen tweeted get-well wishes to his opponent Monday night.
Glad to hear that @RepHardy will make a strong and quick recovery. Wishing him and his family all the best.
