Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, wants President Barack Obama to blame Russia for trying to interfere with state election systems.

Schiff said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that cyberattacks on voter registration systems could “sow discord,” though he also doubted hackers could falsify vote tallies to affect the election outcome.

“I have no doubt [this is Russia]. And I don’t think the administration has any doubt,” Schiff said.

The comments come in light of alerts that state election systems like those in Arizona and Illinois were targeted by hackers.
