Colorado Republican Senate candidate Darryl Glenn has reversed his position on whether his party’s presidential nominee Donald Trump should step aside.

Ahead of and during his Tuesday debate with Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, Glenn said he wanted to meet with Trump before making a final decision.

But he had initially said that Trump should do the “honorable” thing and step aside for vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, after a 2005 recording was released last Friday showing Trump talking about making unwanted sexual advances toward women.

No meeting has yet been arranged, Glenn’s campaign said.

“I wonder what really changed [about Trump],” Bennet said, adding that “as the father of three daughters, I didn’t hear an apology.”

A number of Republican congressional candidates and incumbents have abandoned Trump or have called for him to step aside. Others have condemned his remarks on the tape but have said they will continue to support the Republican nominee.

While Bennet was thought to be vulnerable at the start of this election cycle, the Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call now rates the race as Safe Democrat.
