Lee, Thompson and Fudge on Former Rep. Brown’s Witness List
Former congresswoman’s trial scheduled to begin April 24

Reps. Bennie Thompson, Marcia Fudge and Sheila Jackson Lee are potential witnesses in the corruption case of former Florida Rep. Corrine Brown.
An attorney for Brown listed Thompson, D-Miss., Fudge, D-Ohio, and Lee, D-Texas, are on the witness list for Brown’s corruption trial, which begins with jury selection on April 24, the Florida Times-Union reported.
Brown is currently facing charges that she used funds from a non-profit called One Door on herself. Her former chief of staff Ronnie Simmons and Carla Wiley, the president of One Door, already pleaded guilty to fraud conspiracy charges.
Also on the list are Martin Luther King III, who accompanied Brown to a February court hearing, Rev. Jesse Jackson and University of North Florida president John Delaney, a former mayor of Jacksonville.
The former congressman’s daughter Shantrel Brown, a Washington lobbyist, is on the prosecution’s witness list, while Brown’s defense lists Hector Alcalde, founder of the firm where Shantrel Brown is a partner, the newspaper reported.
