The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is trying to tie Republicans they see as vulnerable in 2018 to new provisions in the proposed Republican replacement to the 2010 health care law.

The committee is hitting Republicans in 30 districts for what they say will weaken protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Tyler Law, a spokesman for the DCCC, said the digital ad campaign will be in the five-figure range and be featured on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

“Removing protections for people with pre-existing conditions will go down in infamy as one of the most heartless acts of this Republican Congress,” Law said in a statement, “As proof of the repeal bill’s devastating impact, Republican Members of Congress are exempting themselves from the punishment they are willing to inflict on their constituents.”

Many of the members being targeted are in districts that the DCCC is already targeting.

In addition, the committee released a list of previous quotes from Speaker Paul D. Ryan, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden, and many of the vulnerable Republicans saying they would protect those with pre-existing conditions.
