Sen Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, spoke on the Senate floor Wednesday in support of medicinal marijuana, in connection with a bill he is also introducing to legalize the practice nationally. Hatch has broken with his party before on biomedical research, such as his longtime support of embryonic stem cell research.
