At a House Financial Services Committee oversight hearing Thursday, Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez, D-N.Y., lambasted Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson — and by proxy, his boss President Donald Trump — over the administration’s response to hurricane damage on her native island. She dubbed Trump’s Thursday morning tweets about the island “shameful” and insulting to the American citizens there.
