Democrat Doug Jones drastically outraised GOP nominee Roy Moore for the Alabama Senate race, new campaign finance documents show. 

Jones raised nearly six times Moore’s amount ahead of the Dec. 12 special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Jones headed into the final weeks of the race with roughly four times as much money in the bank than his GOP opponent. 

Both campaigns have filed their pre-special election reports, which cover the period between Oct. 1 and Nov. 22. The full reports are still being processed by the Senate Office of Public Records since they are submitted on paper, but initial pages of the reports were available Friday.

Jones raked in nearly $10.2 million compared to Moore’s $1.8 million. Jones also spent roughly 5 times as much as Moore during that period, nearly $8.7 million compared to Moore’s $1.7 million.

Jones, a former U.S. Attorney, also ended the reporting period with more money in the bank. His ending cash on hand totaled more than $2.5 million. Moore, a former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, ended the period with nearly $640,000 on hand.

Jones reportedly experienced a fundraising boost following allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore. Last month the Washington Post published a report alleging Moore had engaged in inappropriate romantic and sexual advances with a handful of women when they were teenagers and he was in his thirties.

So far nine women have accused Moore of misconduct and three alleged that he sexually assaulted them. Moore has adamantly denied any wrongdoing and has said he does not know the women involved.
