Outgoing Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake tweeted a picture of a $100 check made out to Democratic Senate candidate Doug Jones’ campaign in Alabama.

Flake, who has frequently criticized Republican candidate Roy Moore, posted a picture of the check saying simply “Country over party.”

Flake announced he would not seek re-election in 2018 amidst lagging poll numbers after his sharp criticisms of President Donald Trump.

Moore faced intense scrutiny after reports he had inappropriate sexual relationships with teenage girls and sexually assaulted at least one.

Initially cutting Moore off, the Republican National Committee resumed its support this week after Trump both defended Moore and gave him a full endorsement on Twitter

Following initial reports of Moore’s misconduct, Flake tweeted last month that if the contest were between Moore and a Democrat he would vote for the Democrat.

Flake had criticized Moore even before the reports. He also took his Republican colleagues to task when they welcomed Moore to the Capitol Hill after the Alabama candidate said Muslims should not be elected to Congress.
