Indiana Rep. Todd Rokita plans to take a not-so-subtle dig at Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi with new legislation.

Rokita plans to introduce the CRUMBS Act, an acronym for Creating Relief and Useful Middle-Class Benefits and Savings, Fox News reported.

The legislation’s name is in reference to the Democratic leader for calling bonuses that companies announced after President Donald Trump signed tax cut legislation “crumbs.”

The legislation would make bonuses up to $2,500 received in 2018 tax-free.

“Americans are receiving thousands of dollars in bonuses and more money in their paychecks thanks to President Trump’s tax reform, but out-of-touch Democratic leaders believe they only amount to crumbs,” Rokita said.

Republicans have tried to weaponize Pelosi’s words against her since she characterized the tax overhaul bill this way: “In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic. It’s so pathetic.”

Rokita is currently running for the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly. He is currently engaged in a tough primary fight against fellow Rep. Luke Messer.

Citing a tally by Americans for Tax Reform, Fox News reported that at least 346 companies have given workers bonuses or raises or increased contributions to employees’ 401(k) since the tax overhaul bill was passed.
