Rubio Mocked for Three Consecutive Days on Twitter
Florida Republican criticized media for coverage of Trump

Sen. Marco Rubio has been the subject of mockery for the third consecutive day on Twitter for his comments defending President Donald Trump.
The Twitterverse criticized the Florida Republican on Friday for saying there was so much profanity in news stories.
Sign of our times… the F word is now routinely used in news stories, tweets etc It’s not even F*** anymore. Who made that decision???

“Sign of our times… the F word is now routinely used in news stories, tweets etc It’s not even F*** anymore,” he tweeted Friday. “Who made that decision???”
Immediately, Rubio was mocked. Weekly Standard reporter Haley Byrd noted Rubio is a major fan of rap music, which includes a ton of f-bombs.
All I’m saying is Marco Rubio’s favorite hip hop song includes around 20 uses of the f-word or derivatives thereof https://t.co/9jotx32AF5

Others pointed out that Rubio openly supports Trump, who famously said he would “bomb the s—” out of countries and was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women’s genitals.
The President you fucking voted for. https://t.co/byc5poDdqu

Still others, such as the popular Twitter page “I F—— Love Science” took a different approach and said swearing can be therapeutic.
Science indicates that swearing promotes trust, acts as a pain suppressant, and improves our emotional comprehension, just to give a few examples of its benefits.
Can’t argue with science. We fucking love that stuff. https://t.co/R5EZ9LZJVj

Friday was the third consecutive day Rubio was mocked on Twitter for his media criticism.
On Wednesday, he tweeted a story from Axios showing 92 percent of Republicans think most news outlets intentionally report fake stories.
Rubio said many Republicans refuse to criticize the president despite their disagreements because “it means siding with a media that nevers [sic] cuts him a break, turns even little things he does into an act of evil, are also unfair to them & in the end will still attack you anyway.”
Many Republicans won’t criticize Trump even when they don’t agree with him b/c it means siding with a media that nevers cuts him a break, turns even little things he does into an act of evil, are also unfair to them & in the end will still attack you anyway https://t.co/jv3A18ka4V

California Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu, himself a prolific tweeter, responded by tweeting that Trump’s family separation policy “is, actually, evil.”
Dear Sen @MarcoRubio: It’s true the media criticized @realDonaldTrump for babies & kids being ripped away from parents. That’s because the little thing @POTUS implemented with his child separation policy is, actually, evil. Will you help me reunite the kids?
In Christ,

Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau noted that when Rubio ran against Trump for president, the Florida senator called him a “con man” who couldn’t be trusted with nuclear weapons.
Marco Rubio once told America that Donald Trump is a dangerous con man who can’t be trusted with the nuclear codes.
Now he wishes the media would cut Trump a break. https://t.co/7pPgQnnPA3

Rubio’s former campaign adviser and neoconservative Trump critic Max Boot said it was “not an excuse for political cowardice.”

Rubio doubled down on his remarks Thursday, saying the “usual suspects” criticized his tweet and either “proved the point or missed it.”
As expected, the reaction of the “usual suspects” to this tweet yesterday either proved my point or missed it. Many in the media & Trump bashers are not self aware enough to realize how biased & dishonest a very large % of GOP voters & officeholders view them & the impact it has https://t.co/4Nnlh6OxoV

“Many in the media & Trump bashers are not self aware enough to realize how biased & dishonest a very large % of GOP voters & officeholders view them & the impact it has,” he said.
That drew even more criticism.
The press runs corrections if it makes a mistake. It does not lie. Lying is antithetical to the job, which is about seeking the truth.
Our job is often inconvenient for politicians, who frequently do stretch the truth, withhold information, skew the facts, and, sometimes, lie. https://t.co/Nca2dq8iZ2
