The political arm of the moderate New Democrat Coalition is endorsing 13 more candidates on Thursday, bringing to 27 the PAC’s current endorsements for the 2018 cycle.

The endorsed candidates, whose names were obtained first by Roll Call, are all running in GOP-held seats. Each candidate received a maximum contribution of $5,000 for their primary, with the endorsement now signaling additional support to come for the general election. 

NewDemPAC endorsed its first round of candidates in March. Of those, two have since lost their primaries (former Rep. Brad Ashford in Nebraska’s 2nd District and Dave Min in California’s 45th District) and another dropped out (RD Huffstetler in Virginia’s 5th District). 

The new additions are:

• Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26)
• Mel Hall (IN-02)
• Brendan Kelly (IL-12)
• Dean Phillips (MN-03)
• Kathy Manning (NC-13)
• Tom Malinowski (NJ-07)
• Lizzie Pannill Fletcher (TX-07)
• Elaine Luria (VA-02)
• Abigail Spanberger (VA-07)

“These individuals have committed themselves to setting aside partisanship and division to make real progress when they come to Congress,” Jon Boughtin, political director for the NewDemPAC, said in a statement. 

“NewDemPAC is doing its part to help take back the House and build a majority that can get things done,” he added.

NewDemPAC is currently supporting 43 candidates, who either have the PAC’s full endorsement or are on its watch list. The New Democrat Coalition includes 68 current members of the House Democratic Caucus who describe themselves as “pro-growth.”
