Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters’ Los Angeles office was evacuated Tuesday after it received a suspicious package.

An update from the Los Angeles Fire Department said that package was addressed to “Anne Thrax,” a play on the word anthrax.

The update also said only the affected parts of two-story building where Waters’ office is located were evacuated.

“One person came in contact with the package and did not have any medical complaints,” the fire department reported.

The fire department said its part of the investigation was over and “any further questions would be part of a law enforcement investigation.”

Mike Lopez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, told Courthouse News “the situation was under control.”

A frequent critic of President Donald Trump, Waters was criticized by Republicans and some Democrats for saying that if people saw members of the Trump administration in a public place “you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

In the backlash, she has been the subject of multiple death threats.

Last week, Anthony Scott Lloyd was sentenced to six months of house arrest after threatening to kill Waters.

Waters was also forced to cancel two events in Alabama and Texas because of death threats.
