It’s common for parents to pass their political beliefs along to their children, but Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis is getting an early start as the latest ad for his Florida gubernatorial bid shows.

The spot features DeSantis’ wife Casey talking about how he was endorsed by President Donald Trump but he’s so much more than just pro-Trump.

The ad then features home videos of DeSantis, one of eight Republicans competing in the Aug. 28 primary, parenting with a pro-Trump flair.

When Casey DeSantis mentions that her husband plays with kids, the ad shows him and his daughter Madison building a block wall with the congressman encouraging her to “build the wall!” an allusion to Trump’s preferred wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Casey DeSantis then mentions he reads stories as the ad depicts the congressman reading Trump’s book “The Art of the Deal” to his child, with the text on screen describing him as a “Pitbull Trump Defender.”

“Then Mr. Trump said, “You’re fired. I love that part,” Ron DeSantis says while holding one of his kids in a rocking chair.

Similarly, when Casey mentions him teaching Madison to talk, the congressman is seen showing her a Trump campaign sign and encouraging her to say “Make America Great Again.”

Trump is set to rally supporters in Tampa on Tuesday for DeSantis and Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is running for Senate. The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., has already campaigned for DeSantis, a member of the hard-line conservative House Freedom Caucus.
