Jim Jordan Scandal Comes to Ohio 12th Race
Democratic Super PAC asks if Balderson supports Jordan for Speaker

A Democratic super PAC wants to make the special election in Ohio’s 12th District also about accusations against Republican Rep. Jim Jordan.
American Bridge released a five-figure ad buy criticizing Republican candidate Troy Balderson for not saying whether he would support Jordan for Speaker of the House.
“Troy Balderson is hiding something from voters” the ad says. “He’s refusing to say if he’ll back Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House.”
Jordan announced he would run for House Speaker last week.
Multiple former wrestlers at Ohio State University have accused Jordan of knowing about sexual abuse by the team physician Richard Strauss while Jordan was an assistant coach.
The ad ends by saying, “does Troy Balderson stand with the victims or with Jim Jordan?”
Balderson is running in Ohio’s 12th District after former Rep. Pat Tiberi resigned his seat to run the Ohio Business Roundtable.
Democratic challenger Danny O’Connor is proving a formidable opponent who closed the gap in polling and outraised and outspent Balderson.
“The fact that he couldn’t denounce a man at the center of such terrible accusations speaks volumes about his misplaced priorities and utter disregard for the victims,” American Bridge President Bradley Beychok said. “Ohio deserves better.”
