Being speaker of the House is a thankless job. Facing constant opposition on the left and the occasional insurrection on the right, Speaker Paul D. Ryan has helmed the House GOP through stormy waters since taking the gavel in 2015. As he spends one last August recess at home in Wisconsin before leaving his Capitol office for good at the end of the 115th Congress, here’s a look at Speaker Ryan’s greatest hits and misses.
