President Donald Trump continued his attacks on his former ally and employee Omarosa Manigault Newman on Twitter on Tuesday, calling his former aide a “dog.”

Trump praised White House Chief of Staff John Kelly for firing his former director of communications for the White House Public Liaison Office and contestant on his show “The Apprentice.” 

“When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out,” he said. “Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”

Trump has used the expression “fired like a dog” in the past, but has not publicly directly referred to anyone as  a “dog.”

Florida Rep. Frederica S. Wilson, who feuded with the White House over a call Trump made to the widow of a soldier killed in Niger, was outraged by Trump’s name-calling.

“How dare he. He has taken this country to its knees. We already have racism raining down all over America,” Wilson said. “And the president of the United States is calling a woman of color a dog. How dare he. How dare he call anyone a dog.”

Republican Sen. Jeff Flake, a frequent critic of Trump’s rhetoric, tweeted the language was unacceptable.

“This kind of language is unbecoming of a President of the United States,” he said. “There is no excuse for it, and Republicans should not be okay with it.”

Democratic Rep. Don Beyer called the tweet “disgusting” and said Trump behaved like a “cheap authoritarian.”

 “Trump just referred to one of the most prominent women of color to work in his Administration as a ‘dog,'” he tweeted and that Trump’s “first move is always to dehumanize and bully even those closest to him.”

Trump’s tweet came as CBS News played an October 2016 tape that it said was provided by Manigault Newman in which Lynn Patton, an aide to then-candidate Trump’s son Eric, Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and campaign communications director Jason Miller discussed how to spin a tape from “The Apprentice” in which Trump used the n-word.

Pierson on the Fox News Channel on Monday night denied the conversation took place.

On Monday, Trump described Manigault Newman as “wacky” after she released recordings of her time in the White House and alluding to the  n-word tape.

Around his attack on Manigault Newman, Trump also commented on an apparent terrorist attack in London in which a car crashed into a crowd near Westminster.

And he also continued venting against the investigation by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Trump also criticized Justice Department Official Bruce Ohr because of the fact his wife Nellie, whose name he misspelled, worked for research group Fusion GPS.
