Democratic Internal Poll Shows Dead Heat In Georgia’s 7th District
Carolyn Bourdeaux’s slight lead against Rob Woodall within margin of error

An internal poll from Rep. Rob Woodall’s Democratic challenger shows the Republican incumbent could be losing in Georgia’s 7th District.
The poll from Carolyn Bourdeaux’s campaign conducted by Tulchin Research between August 9 and August 13 surveyed 400 likely voters from landlines and cell phones.
Bourdeaux had the support of 46 percent of likely voters compared with Woodall’s 44 percent, but that margin is well within the 4.9 percentage point error wickets for the survey.
Ten percent of voters are still undecided, according to the poll.
Last month, Bourdeaux, a Georgia State University Professor, won a divisive runoff after a six-way Democratic primary.
Woodall won the district with 60.4 percent in 2016, passing President Donald Trump’s 51.1.
However, the poll also showed a majority of likely voters in the district are not pleased with the president, with 55 percent having an unfavorable opinion of Trump and only 43 percent having a favorable opinion of him.
Voters in the district also seem to generally favor a Democrat in the seat, with 52 percent saying they want a Democrat to serve as a check on Trump and 44 percent saying they want a Republican to work with him.
Inside Elections with Nathan L. Gonzales rates the race Likely Republican.
