President Donald Trump started the week with more talk on the Brett Kavanaugh nomination. At a news conference on Monday, Trump reinforced the White House’s full support of Kavanaugh and the weeklong, ongoing FBI investigation that was ordered Friday, at the request of moderate senators, into allegations of sexual assault from the nominee’s past. Kavanaugh’s nomination was voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on the contingency that an investigation take place before the full chamber votes on confirmation.
