Democratic Texas Senate candidate Rep. Beto O’Rourke weighed in Monday from the campaign trail on the ongoing consideration of Brett Kavanaugh to be Supreme Court justice. O’Rourke commended the FBI investigation of assault charges made against Kavanaugh, including in a hearing on Capitol Hill last week with one of his accusers, Christine Blasey Ford. O’Rourke is challenging GOP Sen. Ted Cruz, who as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to send Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Senate floor. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday that he’s planning a confirmation vote by the full Senate sometime this week. The FBI query is ongoing.
