Attorney General Jeff Sessions was ousted Wednesday afternoon by President Donald Trump, one day after the Democrats won back the House for the 116th Congress. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer called the timing of the removal “very suspect,” and said that protecting Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III “is paramount.”
