Speaker Paul Ryan was awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award by the Department of Defense on Wednesday. It is the highest-ranking award presented by the secretary of Defense to a non-military member. Ryan spoke little of his achievements while in office, instead praising the military for their sacrifices for our country. Ryan is retiring after this Congress and is appearing at several events honoring his career over the next few weeks in D.C.
