Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer will deliver a response to President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address on border security Tuesday night.

Pelosi and Schumer announced their address Tuesday morning, after having issue a statement the prior evening lamenting TV networks’ decisions to give Trump air time to spread false information about the situation at the border.

“Now that the television networks have decided to air the President’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime,” they said in the statement. The address will be Trump’s first from the Oval Office since he was sworn in to the presidency in January 2017.

Pelosi and Schumer will deliver their response immediately following the conclusion of Trump’s address from the hallway space right outside the speaker’s balcony in the Capitol. Several networks have already confirmed they will carry the two Democrats’ response, including CBS and NBC.
