Rep. Michael Waltz is the newest member from Florida’s 6th District, a seat formerly held by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. In a freshman class of firsts, Waltz is a first in his own right — the first Green Beret to serve as a member of Congress. This distinction has informed his mission in Congress. He is focusing on country and getting things done and says veterans have a propensity for cooperation in tough situations.
