GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz unveiled the so-called Green Real Deal, a conservative resolution to combat climate change, named to mimic the often-derided Green New Deal heralded by many Democrats. The plan calls for investment in alternative energy technology, including solar and nuclear. “History will judge harshly my Republican colleagues who deny the science of climate change,” Gaetz said at a press briefing Wednesday. “Similarly, those Democrats who would use climate change as a basis to regulate out of existence the American experience will face the harsh reality that their ideas will fail.”
