The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing Tuesday on hate crimes and the rise of white nationalism. Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu took a moment to play a clip of controversial remarks on Adolf Hitler made by conservative commentator Candace Owens, who testified before the panel. “I think it’s pretty apparent that Mr. Lieu believes that black people are stupid and will not pursue the full clip in its entirety,” Owens said when GOP Rep. Guy Reschenthaler asked if she had a response.
