Rep. Adam Kinzinger kicked off the weekend ahead of the Fourth of July with his own set of fireworks. Per his latest Instagram post, the Illinois Republican is engaged.

“She said: yes!” reads the caption.

It’s a timely post given that this Sunday is World Social Media Day. What better way to spread the news far and wide than, well, social media?

The rumors about @RepKinzinger are true… he’s officially off the market! He dashed the dreams of thousands across the country after proposing to his smart, beautiful, wonderful girlfriend Sofia. Formal statement to come; photos can be found on his Instagram. Cheers!

A deep investigation on Linkedin makes it appear that the “Sofia” is Sofia Boza-Holman, the director of strategic media for Vice President Mike Pence. She previously worked for former Speaker John A. Boehner.

Kinzinger’s House colleagues, including Reps. Elise Stefanik, Mark Walker and Larry Bucshon, are already leaving congratulatory comments for the happy couple. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy even offered to officiate at the nuptials.
