Decoding approval vs. authorization for COVID-19 treatments

On Sunday, President Donald Trump announced the Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization for convalescent plasma to treat COVID-19.

However, this is a far cry from actual FDA approval. For a treatment (or vaccine) to be fully approved by the FDA it will have to undergo much more rigorous testing. Watch the video for more.
