It was a hot and humid Independence Day in the Washington area. But that didn’t stop folks from enjoying the fireworks and festivities. Nor did it deter politics, as candidates for Senate and the open House seat in Virginia’s 10th District canvassed voters amid the heat.

Here are a few photos from the Fourth of July weekend in the DMV, and one from DEN.
