Welcome back, and farewell, Carter — Congressional Hits and Misses

Week ending January 10, 2025

This was a ceremonious week in Washington, with the certification of the electoral votes and the honoring of the late former President Jimmy Carter at his state funeral — where there also seemed to be some presidential snubbing of sorts of the president-elect. Speaking of snubs, Vice President Kamala Harris also got ignored by Sen. Deb Fischer’s husband during the Nebraska Republican’s swearing-in ceremony.
