Carson Becomes First Indiana Democrat to Endorse Obama

Rep. André Carson (D-Ind.) on Wednesday endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.).

Carson is the first of the five Indiana Democrats, all of whom could play a pivotal role as superdelegates in the presidential race, to endorse a presidential candidate in advance of the state’s May 6 primary.

Micah Ragland, press secretary for Carson, confirmed the endorsement on Wednesday. The Obama campaign has scheduled a morning conference call to announce what it said would be a “major endorsement.”
