Wyoming: Gordon Returns to Air in House Primary Race

After nearly three months off the air, House candidate Mark Gordon is up with his fourth television ad of the GOP primary campaign, this one featuring the wealthy rancher’s solutions to the energy crisis.

This latest 30-second spot is running statewide on broadcast and cable television, according to Gordon’s campaign. Gordon’s main competition for the GOP nod in Wyoming’s at-large House seat is former state Treasurer Cynthia Lummis. The primary is on Aug. 19.

“Spiraling fuel costs threaten our economy and our security,” the voice-over begins in Gordon’s ad.

“Our state will lead the way,” Gordon continues, as he looks straight into the camera while standing in front of a flowing river and rolling green hills.

Lummis is currently up with her own television spot focused on energy. Her ad is running statewide on broadcast and cable, although Lummis described the buy as “more limited” than Gordon’s.

Gary Trauner, who nearly defeated Rep. Barbara Cubin (R) in 2006 despite Wyoming’s strong Republican lean, is running again for the Democrats. Cubin is retiring.
