Democrats Tee Off on Boehner

Democrats are showing Republicans they don’t have a monopoly on political theatrics. Keying off a report that House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) hit the links this week while his party protested Democrats going on vacation without addressing gas prices, about a dozen Democratic interns dressed up in golf gear Friday morning to welcome Boehner back to the Capitol.

Carrying signs that read “Golf & Oil Party” and “Fore! Dollar Gas,” they chanted, “We’re hurting, they’re golfing,” as Boehner stepped out of a black SUV and walked into the building’s southeast entrance.

Boehner, who offered no comment, was not amused. Moments later, he kicked off a news conference in which Republicans, for the sixth day running, challenged Democrats to come back in session and lift the federal ban on offshore drilling.
