Greer Heads to K Street

The exodus of Democratic Capitol Hill aides to K Street continues.

Libby Greer, chief of staff to Rep. Allen Boyd (D-Fla.), is heading downtown, joining the firm Cauthen, Forbes & Williams.

Greer is viewed as a plum hire on K Street given her close ties to Boyd and other members of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of fiscally conservative Democrats. The group’s influence has grown in recent years, particularly as Democrats have strengthened their majority in Congress.

The four-person Cauthen firm counts Amgen, Delta Air Lines and Motorola, among others, as clients.

Greer is just the latest in a string of House Democrats to recently make the move to the private sector. Jaime Harrison, former floor director and counsel to House Majority Whip James Clyburn (S.C.), left for Podesta Group in September, and Gregg Rothschild, former deputy chief of staff and counsel to former House Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell (Mich.), joined Glover Park Group earlier this year.
