Former Rep. Musgrave Takes Job With Susan B. Anthony List

Former Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-Colo.) has signed on as project director of the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List as part of a new program targeting vulnerable pro-abortion rights Members of Congress.

“We are going to say very clearly these votes have consequences,— Musgrave said.

Musgrave, who lost her House seat to Democrat Betsy Markey in the 2008 elections, will focus on building grass-roots support and fundraising for the group.

Leaders of the Susan B. Anthony List called the project the most “aggressive effort— in existence, citing its early mobilization as a key factor for its success.

“This is a program that will keep a few people awake at night,— group President Marjorie Dannensfelser said. “It’s not okay to articulate a position and talk in a certain fashion in your district and then do something very different when you are in Washington.—

Dannensfelser declined to name any particular Members they would target or how much money they were putting toward the effort.

The group raised nearly $7 million in the 2008 election cycle.
