Ohio: Stivers Seeks Rematch With Kilroy

Former state Sen. Steve Stivers (R) announced this week he will make a second bid to win the Central Ohio 15th district seat, setting up a rematch with freshman Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D) in 2010.

“Today I am renewing my pledge to the people of the 15th Congressional district — I’m running for Congress to bring the common sense solutions and values of Central Ohio families to our nation’s capitol,— Stivers said in a statement.

Kilroy defeated Stivers last year by 2,312 votes. President Barack Obama carried the district with 54 percent. That wasn’t the first close election residents of the Columbus-area district have endured in recent years: Kilroy lost to then-Rep. Deborah Pryce (R) by 1,055 votes in 2006.
