Coakley Up With New Ad in Massachusetts

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) launched a new television ad on Wednesday, her first of the general election campaign to fill Massachusett’s Senate seat.

The 30-second spot, which begins airing Thursday, paints Coakley as someone willing to take on Wall Street.

Coakley is the heavy favorite in the Jan. 19 special election over state Sen. Scott Brown (R), and has an advantage in both name recognition and funds. A recent poll, however, showed Brown trailing by less than expected in the Democratic-leaning state.
