Fiorina to Report $3.6 Million in Campaign Receipts

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina loaned her campaign $2.5 million and ended 2009 with more than $2.7 million cash on hand, her California Senate campaign disclosed today.

Including her personal loan, Fiorina has raised nearly $3.6 million since declaring her candidacy in early November, her campaign said, including nearly $1 million in individual contributions.

The campaign spent $831,000 in the period, through the end of the year.

The Republican party establishment has rallied around Fiorina’s bid to unseat Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), in large part because of her funding abilities. Her year-end numbers put her well-ahead of GOP rival Chuck DeVore’s fundraising pace. The state Assemblyman reported $715,000 in receipts and $145,000 in cash on hand at the end of September. He has yet to file his year-end fundraising report.

Fiorina, however, still lags well behind Boxer in spending money. Boxer reported $4 million in receipts and $6.4 million in cash on hand at end of September.
