A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio and some of his celebrity friends took on the role of lobbyist this week, urging the Senate to pass climate change legislation in a Web video produced by the National Resources Defense Council Action Fund. [IMGCAP(1)]The Hollywood stars urge Americans to call their Senators in support of the Clean Energy, Jobs and American Power Act, which passed the House last year but lingers in the Senate. Jason Bateman, Chace Crawford, Felicity Huffman, Justin Long, Edward Norton, Emmy Rossum and Forest Whitaker join DiCaprio in the ad, which is designed to be shared on social networking Web sites such as Twitter and Facebook. And while DiCaprio takes a serious tone in the video — talking about the environment, America’s dependence on foreign oil, green jobs, blah blah blah — other celebs bring the funny, including Bateman.“Flood the inboxes of your Senators.
