Campus Notebook: Clean and Green

ClassiCleaners, a new eco-friendly dry cleaning service, opened in the basement of the Longworth House Office Building this week. The new vendor replaces Annie’s Dry Cleaning and will feature extended hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when the House is in session.

[IMGCAP(1)]ClassiCleaners implements an “eco-friendly dry cleaning process,” according to the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer. In using this green process, the shop produces less waste than other dry cleaners. The switch to ClassiCleaners is part the Green the Capitol Initiative, the House of Representatives’ ongoing effort to reduce its carbon footprint.

The new dry cleaner is located in B239 Longworth. Rates range from $1.89 for a shirt to $10.20 for a two-piece suit.
