HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Foley Cleans His Closets

Scandal-scorched former Rep. Mark Foley has found a new post-Congressional career. The Florida Republican has opened a consignment shop in West Palm Beach, where he is hawking his own furnishings as well as those of friends, local TV station WPTV reports.

[IMGCAP(1)]Foley, who resigned amid a scandal involving inappropriate e-mails with teenage pages, is selling off bits from his former digs in Washington, including plenty of elephant-themed items (a nod to his GOP allegiance), chandeliers, furniture and even some “historical” pieces, the report says.

Foley’s infamy has been good for business, he says. According to the story: “‘My name attracts attention, I’ll give it that,’ Foley said as his voice began to crack. ‘For good and bad people have all kinds of things to say. But I will tell you this experience of coming home has been wonderful.'”
