HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Here, There, Everywhere
It seems that legislators are working hard and playing hard as they get back in the swing of things.
HOH spotted Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), dreamy Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood at a book party held at the swanky British Embassy on Thursday night. Former first lady Laura Bush even made a surprise appearance late in the evening.
The VIPs were on hand to sip champagne in celebration of Nancy Brinker, the founder of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, who recently published a memoir, “Promise Me,” about her relationship with her sister.
And on Wednesday night, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was spotted dining at Bibiana with two women, one of whom was New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd. We hear that the trio enjoyed a multicourse meal and that Bloomberg even took time to chat and take photos with onlookers.
Across town, former White House aide Karl Rove was seen breaking bread at chef Wolfgang Puck’s the Source.
