HOH’s One-Minute Recess: It’s Been a Slice

As staffers trekked back to Capitol Hill after the August break, most returned with happy memories of the summer. For many, those memories include days (and nights) spent on Delaware beaches — and a trip to Dewey or Rehoboth beach wouldn’t be complete without ordering a pie from Grotto Pizza.

Just ask Rep. Mike Castle.

The Delaware Republican saluted the First State’s beloved pizza chain on the House floor last week, noting that Grotto is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Founded in 1960 by then-17-year-old Dominick Pulieri in Rehoboth Beach, the chain now boasts 18 locations, many of which cater to thousands of hungry beachgoers each year.

“This is a testament to the strong leadership Dominick provided, great customer service and, most importantly, delicious food,” Castle says.
