HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Cartoon Presidents

Two of America’s nerdiest pastimes — politics and comic books — are coming together this week in the form of a new graphic novel. “Political Power” is a 96-page book that tells the stories of Presidents Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama through drawings and dialogue bubbles.

The book is being released by Bluewater Productions as a part of its comic biography series. The series is a spin-off of the company’s “Female Force” line of comics, which recently published a novel on women in the media featuring animated versions of Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters and Meredith Vieira.

In the past, the “Political Power” series has featured novels on such political heavy hitters as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Celebs, Celebs Everywhere

Members of Congress are (mostly) out of town, but turn around anywhere in D.C. on Wednesday and you’ll probably spot a celebrity.

Actress Anne Hathaway and model Christy Turlington Burns are on tap to join White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and World Bank President Robert Zoellick at the World Bank on Wednesday afternoon to promote development programs for adolescent girls in poor countries.

On Wednesday night, Emmy winners Kristin Chenoweth and Rhea Perlman will join country singer Jimmy Wayne and Sen. Mary Landrieu for the 12th annual Angels in Adoption Gala at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, honoring 140 people for their work on behalf of children. The Louisiana Democrat co-chairs the Congressional Coalition on Adoption.
