HOH’s One-Minute Recess: A Judge and an Actress Walk Into a Restaurant …

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito might not be the hippest guy in town, but he was recently seen dining out with a Hollywood actress.

A spy spotted Alito on Friday having lunch at Penn Quarter hot spot Rasika with Academy Award-nominated actress Marsha Mason. Mason is best known for her roles in “The Goodbye Girl” and “Cinderella Liberty.” No word on why the two were together; a Supreme Court spokeswoman didn’t have any information about the curious lunch date.

It was a busy day at Rasika, as first lady Michelle Obama popped in for dinner later Friday night. HOH hears Obama broke bread with two female friends.

But wait, there’s more: Actress Olivia Newton-John, in town for the Honoring the Promise gala hosted by Susan G. Koman for the Cure, was spotted Friday having lunch with a friend at Jaleo. The actress, perhaps best known as Sandy from “Grease,” dined on a vegetable sandwich along with a beet salad and flan for dessert.

Overheard on the Hill

“That’s a great advantage!”

— Rep. John Dingell at the Honoring the Promise gala at the Kennedy Center on Saturday night. The Michigan Democrat was commenting on the number of women attending the event, which raised awareness about breast cancer.
