HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Final Countdown, No. 9

From a Congressman refusing to pay his cab fare to a certain staffer misusing a listserv, 2010 was a good year for gossip. As the year winds down, HOH will count down our top 10 items of the year. We’ve sifted through dozens of columns and found the most salacious, titillating and hilarious gossip of the year.

In our No. 9 spot is a chance run-in between Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill.) and rock star-turned-reality star Bret Micheals.

“Nothin’ but a Good Time” From Sept. 28:

Rep. Aaron Schock went on a 2,500-mile bus tour of his district during the August recess, and we’re guessing it involved far less alcohol and fewer scantily clad women than the on-the-road lifestyle made famous by the celebrity whom the Illinois Republican met with during the trip.

Schock hung out with “Rock of Love” star Bret Michaels in Quincy, where he hosted a town hall and met with local employers. The Poison front man and “Celebrity Apprentice” winner was playing a show in town, and the Congressman decided to check it out.

“It was an excellent opportunity to interact with 2,000 of his fellow ’80s hair metal fans,” spokesman Dave Natonski says.

Michaels mingled with fans after the concert; Schock and staffers took photos with the rocker.
