Heard on the Hill: Take Five!

Every Tuesday, HOH gets to know a Member of Congress better through a series of five fun questions. This week, we chat with freshman Rep. Steve Womack. The Arkansas Republican tells us about his admiration for Winston Churchill.

Q: What team do you think will win the Stanley Cup?

A: The Philadelphia Flyers.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (aside from your family), who would it be and why?

A: Alive: [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu. Why? Because in part to his military background and his governing of a country so isolated and threatened by hostile neighbors. Dead: Winston Churchill. Why? I often quote him and admire the way he served as British prime minister. It would also be interesting to get his perspective of American history during that era.

Q: What’s your favorite drink?

A: Sweet tea.

Q: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

A: “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

Q: Who’s your best friend in Congress?

A: There are too many to reduce to one.
