HOH’s One-Minute Recess: McConnell Forgets One Chore

There’s a lot to do before leaving town for a week. Unplug appliances: Check. Turn down the thermostat: Check.

HOH hears that at least one Senator, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, was a bit forgetful about one last detail before he left for the President’s Day recess. A spy tells us that newspapers have been piling up in front of the Kentucky Republican’s Capitol Hill home ever since he departed for the Bluegrass State.

“Apparently no one called to suspend newspaper subscriptions when he and Elaine are back in Louisville,” our tipster says.

No word on what subscriptions he has delivered because McConnell is traveling and unavailable for comment, according to his office.
